{"id":1354,"date":"2013-08-02T21:42:31","date_gmt":"2013-08-03T02:42:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/healingmusicenterprises.com\/blog\/?p=1354"},"modified":"2013-08-02T21:42:31","modified_gmt":"2013-08-03T02:42:31","slug":"healing-music-or-music-healing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/healingmusicenterprises.com\/blog\/2013\/08\/healing-music-or-music-healing\/","title":{"rendered":"Healing Music or Music Healing?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Music is healing!\u00a0 To the mind, the body and the spirit.\u00a0 Almost everyone on the planet has some sort of music that they really, really love and choose to listen to!\u00a0 But is it the music itself that heals and soothes, or is it about the person performing it, or is it the method of delivery, i.e. live, ambient (recorded and played through speakers in the room) or through headphones?<\/p>\n<p>For almost 25 years I have been researching, performing and writing about healing music.\u00a0 I have always believed that a live performance is the most healing.\u00a0 For people who are willing to try vocal toning, or drumming or playing an instrument, this is best.\u00a0 After that, a live performance is best.\u00a0 My music medicine mentors, Arthur Harvey, Don Campbell, and Alfred Tomatis taught me that the intention behind a live performance is a key to its effectiveness.\u00a0 Unfortunately, a live performance is not always possible.\u00a0 For me, the next best thing is a recording of acoustic healing music through high quality headphones.<\/p>\n<p>The piece of music I am playing in this YouTube video is one of my favorite pieces of healing music.\u00a0 J.S. Bach did not characterize this piece as &#8220;healing music,&#8221; but I think if he were here today he would agree.\u00a0 What do YOU think?<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0 <iframe loading=\"lazy\"
