Uncommon Visionary Needless to say I was very excited about the production of this video because it was based almost entirely upon my Ph.D. dissertation! I am featured in the documentary about six times in my red vest and white blouse talking about Landowska and her amazing feats as the story is woven in and out around that. I think that Attie, Goldwater, and Pontius did an excellent job with the historical footage and with getting Denise Restout to cooperate. It would be very sad indeed if Wanda Landowska's great work were to fade from the memory of today's or tomorrow's generation of harpsichordists and keyboardists in general. EverSound Colors: A Musical Journey Around the World This is a beautiful video. The nature shots and photography are topnotch and the New Age music is both relevant to the video tracks and wonderfully relaxing to listen to. I certainly would recommend this video to anyone who appreciates this genre of videos. DVD

Vladimir Horowitz - The Last Romantic In this celebratory documentary we get a fascinating chance to see legendary pianist Vladimir Horowitz from an intimate perspective. The camera allows marvelous access to examine closely the flurry of Horowitz's fingers across the keyboard and his wonderfully expressive face as it keeps time with the music, registering in turn intensity, rapture, childish delight. Horowitz himself seems just as much to float, unbounded by the gravitational tug of age (he was 81 at the time). Mike Portnoy goes into his "bag of tricks" and tells you the fills he incorporates in his music, as well as his drum solos. There is a lot of classic footage of Mike Portnoy in the early days of Dream Theater. Did I mention that this is a double DVD? 190 minutes long, with bonus footage! A must have for any Dream Theater fan. Another side note: at the end of the DVD, your given a password that gives you access to all of the sheet music, for all of the songs on these DVDs.
