Have you ever been to the Kentucky Derby? If not, have you watched it on TV?? This week in Louisville is probably even bigger than Christmas. We have major events every day for almost two weeks. This past week-end was the Mini-Marathon and the Great Balloon Race. Tomorrow morning I’m leaving at 6:30 a.m. for “Dawn at the Downs” where people like me can sit in “Millionaire’s Row” and eat a fabulous buffet breakfast while watching the horses do their early morning work-outs around the track. Should be a beautiful sight!
Will there be any healing music going on? Well, let me suggest that you turn on the TV right before the Derby race is run on Saturday afternoon. When the U of Louisville band plays “My Old Kentucky Home” there’s not a dry eye in the stands or at home. Is this healing? Many would say that tears frequently have a cleansing effect; a cathartic effect. Just think about that when you hear “My Old Kentucky Home” on Saturday. I’ll remind you before then!
